Hi ,
I have few records in my input file, but I need ignore comparison of particular position in particular record, below is the example.
File 1:-
acbd efgh i jckl
1234 5468 8 10 1213
IJKL MNQP REQ
AAAA BBBB CCC DDD
File 2:-
acbd efgh i jckl
1234 9999 8 10 1213
IJKL MNQP REQ
AAAA BBBB CCC DDD
here I need to compare all the records one to one, this can be done using 3.13, but my condition is while comparing second record I need to ignore 6th position to 10th position, do we have any option for this kind of comparison,
Please provide me if is there any option ?
1. here if key is '1234' then 6th to 10th position needs to be ignored
Regards,

NO!
superc is content agnostic
You can choose what columns compare ,
but the comparison will be carried on for all the records |

Hello,
Depending on your particular situation, you could copy the files forcing a common value into those positions and then they would compare equal . . . |

Please submit through batch instead of foreground, and add CMPCOLM statement in SYSIN DD* statements for all columns except from 6 to 10.
If this doesnt work for your requirement, you can use sort to achieve the same. |

did You notice that the TS requirement is NOT to ignore columns 6-10 always
but to ignore them ONLY for the second record or when the first 4 positions contain some predefined value
