Hello,
We have a document in Bookmanager format on MF which is converted to HTML format as we want to move away from Bookmanager.
Now, we want to convert this HTML document into PDF/PostScript file and save it on MF in some PS dataset.
As far as I know, IBM does not have a tool which can convert HTML to PDF on MF system. Does anyone know if there is any tool which can convert HTML to PDF/PostScript on MF system? |

Have you tried Adobe? I am not saying that it can do this but as they are the PDF people they may have a tool. Another possible option is to read it into MS Word and save in PDF format. I assume that as, I think, Word can save as HTML it should also be able to read HTML. Maybe wishful thinking?
Who created the bookmanager version of the original document? Perhaps they have a PDF version? |

hmm, yes contacting Adobe is a good idea.
Actually, we ship this doc to our customers in PDF format(non-editable format). We ship this doc as a PS dataset and once we download this PS dataset on our local system, it can be opened as a PDF file.
So, am looking for some Mainframe utility which I can run using JCL to convert HTML into PDF. Input file will be a PS dataset having text and html tags and output file would be a PS/PDS dataset in having PDF formatted text which can be read only after downloading document on a local system.
Not sure who created Bookmanager format, coding is done long back. |
