Hi SMS Experts

Can some one answer the following questions

Can a volume name eg "DATA01" be defined to two different storage groups called "SGPRIME" & "SGPOOL"?

If the answer is NO which DFSMS manual is it documented in?

Many thanks for you time

Andrew

Why would you want to define it to two different SG's ?

The ISMF panel only has one spot for storage group, so I suspect the answer is NO.

No you cannot define a volume in two Storgrps. ISMF will not let you do this. Also it is pointless as you cannot have two of the same volser online to MVZ/ZOS at the same time. Duplicate volsers are NEVER a happy situation....avoid at all costs.

The DFSMS Storage Administration Guide or Reference proabbly states this somewhere, have you looked?
