Hi.

While renaming volume names, Is it possible to update all the datasets inside those volume to point to the new volume in the catalog entry?

Breath in, breath out.

It is only possible with specialist software like Rocket VCR and when you have cloned entire volumes to new ones.

Otherwise you have to move the data off the volume (or logically back it up and delete it) with something like DFDSS (ADRDSSU), rename the volume and then (logically) restore or copy the data back to it.
