While exploring oppurtunities to quicken a load process in our application's database, the multi-row insert feauture on DB2 10 helped improve the time and efficieny in loading bulk data.

Is there a similar option on the UPDATE, that could update multiple rows using Host Variables? Despite multiple efforts, I couldn't come across this in any of the materials available on the net.

Hi jdeeponline,

Try MERGE statement, it can update multiple rows using host variables, but be careful, if the row you are trying to update is not found, the statement will go for insert.

Thanks,
Sushanth
