Hi ,
Please note that we are facing the below error when recalling a dataset.
RECALL FAILED, RC=0068, REAS=0016
ARC1168I DATA FORMAT OR POSITIONING ERROR DURING RECALL/RECOVERY
+APPLICATION HAS ISSUED A CONTROLLED ABEND
Due to this the next step which uses the dataset fails with ABEND=S000 U0108 REASON=00000000.
Could any one please tell me the reason for this and how can we resolve this?

did You care to look at the messages and codes manuals
and to contact QUICKLY Your storage support group.
this type of error is usually a symptom of defective <media> which usually implies DATA LOSS
probably time to get in touch with IBM support also |

Talk to your site support group. The tape being used for the recall could be corrupt, or the tape no longer has the correct HSM control data on it -- in either case, the recall is not likely to ever work and your site support group needs to be aware of the situation. |
