Select Query while image copy is executing

Hi,

I have a jcl that runs select queries (user reports) and that is set as successor to an image copy job. Since that image copy job runs long, users don't want to wait long to get their user reports.

I doubt if we can run both the jobs simultaneously? Can some one help me out.

Since this is in production environment, I want to take expert's opnion before making any changes to the schedule.

I would suggest you to talk to your DBA know why is the IMAGE COPY is executing ?

Many Systems would have the IMAGE COPY to take back up / to reset pending status and make the Table space in RW mode

so .. Better talk to your DBA first
