help to do what...
asking this kind of questions on a forum is a waste of time for everybody
if Your security monkeys have deleted something and that prevents You from doing what You are supposed to
talk to Your support and Your <command> line
can You read them at least ...
in that case You can used DFDSS to copy them and rename them to the new pattern
( search the forum for the relevant examples/jcl snippets ) |

Apologies for not completing the question properly earlier.
I am getting an error while trying to rename as security team has revoked the access for that TPX-id as mentioned earlier. I am using IEBCOPY to copy individual PDS to my PDS. Is there any way to rename all the files(PDS) prefixed with TPXid.**.** to with mytpx-id.**.**
as prefix using JCL at a shot. |

we are getting into a loop here ...
if You cannot rename them one by one for what reason You believe that You will be able to do a MASS rename ..
reread my previous post about using dfdss to copy/rename them ( IN ONE SHOT ) |

If your security people have revoked your access then your access is revoked. Why did they revoke it? Because you should not have it? In that case you should not be trying to do what you are doing and persisting will just lead to your employment being terminated. If there is stuff there that you have a legitimate need for then speak to your manager. But we cannot help you get fired. |

kvamsy - Did you mean "rename" or "copy"? They are two different animals. |

the TS is/was stubbornly stuck on the rename
never considered my suggestion to copy
( and he/she has read access ) |

How I see the request from OP is -- "TPX-ID" (RCAF-ID, log-in ID ...?) no longer exist on the system and they are trying to get rid of the left over stuff from this ID; appraently, rename won't work... |

I realize this is an old thread, but before leaving a contract, I would rename some of my datasets and PDSs to a HLQ that all developers had access to just to prevent this type of problem. Only with approval by my supervisor of course. |

The problem is that some people depart on rather short notice; even they don't know that they're about to leave... |

Way too often, i was the one that followed . . .
It is wonderful being the new guy and the crisis du'jour needs "stuff" from the recently departed . . .
Of course, you don't even have an id/pwd yet, let alone know about what "Fred" had done.
