Hi,

I have a PS creation with the below parameters as .

DD DSN=ABC.CSS.EFFHIT.CLIREIM(+1),
DISP=(NEW,CATLG),
UNIT=SYSALLDA,RETPD=45,
SPACE=(TRK,15),
DCB=(SYS2.GDG,DSORG=PS)

Actually The dataset should be allocated with 45 tracks only.
But when i have seen on the datas with the 'I', it shows the used tracks and the extents is different . I can't able to get the count of tracks it allocated.

Code:
General Data Current Allocation
Management class . . : MCSTNGDG Allocated tracks . : 294
Storage class . . . : STANDARD Allocated extents . : 1
Volume serial . . . : SM31XM
Device type . . . . : 3390
Data class . . . . . : DCDEFGDG
Organization . . . : PS Current Utilization
Record format . . . : FB Used tracks . . . . : 294
Record length . . . : 150 Used extents . . . : 1
Block size . . . . : 27900
1st extent tracks . : 294
Secondary tracks . : 0 Dates
Data set name type : Creation date . . . : 2013/03/01
SMS Compressible. . : NO Referenced date . . : 2013/03/11
Expiration date . . : 2013/04/15

Can you please let me know how it is allocated and the used tracks shows 294.

Thanks For your help in advance.

Perhaps the data class is overriding your JCL?

Please use the Code button and the Preview button so that you can present you information in the best way,

"Something" is managing your space for you. Have a look at the sysout of the job which created the dataset.

Why do you believe so? Is your LPAR, in which you execute this Job, SMS mamanged or not? If no, your question makes sense else the DATCLAS from ACS might govern it, as "Sama" and Bill has pointed to.
