Why does someone believe you need to do this?
When you say "rename", do you mean to copy all generations to a new dataset name? |

now started researching whether its possible to rename GDG generations with rexx?

Yes, it is possible using REXX, but please explain WHY you need to do this.
How did you rename the PDS members, and can this methodology not be used for dataset names ? |

I rename PDS members using "ISPEXEC LMMREN" command but it not works with GDG dataset ..
same as this can u give atleast some clue which way ?
Just to learn i'm trying this .. I'm fresh to mainframe
no business needs so dont worry abt this .. |
