Hi,
I am very new to SAR.
I would like to know whether it is possible to delete(purge) an abended job from SAR.
I have done that in SDSF.
Thanks in advance,

Hello,
From "Sysout Selection List" screen
Enter D in the SEL (select) column of the output you want to delete in a Sysout or Report Selection List.
If you have access you should be able to delete the output.
But why do you want to delete archived job output in the first place? |

deleting something from any sysout archival repository is not related to the content
just to the standards of Your organizations
the best place to ask if and how would be Your support, not a public forum |

Hi,
My friend submitted a test job in SAR Prod region.
We are not supposed to do so.
So just wanted to know whether it is possible to delete that job.
Thanks all...

Hmmmmmmmm, if he submitted the job into the Prod LPAR, it may be a very very good idea to leave it where it is.
At the very very least, you should go through it with a finer than fine comb to ensure that it has not accessed any production data, and if it has, what the hell has it done with it. |

Agree with expat. Just getting rid of the list output is not going to "hide" anything, it is just going to make it obvious that you are trying to "hide" something.
There are "tracks" of whatever the job did in various places. When those tracks lead to "missing output" as well, the situation will be worse.
It is not your "friend"'s fault. The inability to access production data should be down to more than having to remember to submit the job to the correct place. |

Hi All,
Thanks for all the replies.
It has not accessed any production data.
She contacted the concerned person.
They told her there's nothing to worry.
It was not to hide anything.
The job was in queue & she just wanted to purge it before it runs.
But the job ran successfully.
Thanks,
Sunita |
