Are you using CA-Sort? Or have you posted in the wrong forum? Can you confirm which product you are using, please?

Can you show sample input and expected output? In the Code Tags.

How can we help when you did not describe a problem? "[N]ot getting appropriate results" could be any of:
- getting an abend
- getting a SORT error message
- getting a SORT warning message
- getting results for file 01 but not file 02
- getting results for file 02 but not file 01
- getting results for file 01 and file 02 but not what you expected in file 01
- getting results for file 01 and file 02 but not what you expected in file 02
- getting results for file 01 and file 02 but neither is what you expected
- something else you have not explained

Since each of these requires different solution, it's hard to say much. In other words, you have not yet even defined what kind of problem you have.

Come on guys, isn't Thursday crystal ball day?

The OP has Syncsort, and thinks it is owned by CA (don't they own most everything).

The VSAM file is VB and he must add 4 bytes to his location (1 becomes 5).

The Ravens will beat the 49ers in the Superbowl.

The Ravens won already? They haven't played the game yet.
