I need to split the file on the basis of SET_MED_CD from the position 11 and length 2 in the input file, and header should be same in all the split file. But the trailer count should be as per the no of detail record specific to that file. Can you suggest me the change in the above JCl you suggested. Thanks alot!

Being in forum for 7 years you should have atleast learnt not to tailgate an old topic

For better outputs you should feed us better inputs so we have all the information to process for your need

Please provide the input and output within code tags with "all" conditions mentioned ( So we dont need to guess what is needed ourselves)

it is just a waste of time for everybody to use internal ( to Your organization ) jargon

people replying spend enough time to understand <Your> questions
without having to translate everything to a neuter terminology ...

better stick to generic terms like field, key, date, value, amount
so to give a general idea of the content of the fields .
nothing more nothing less

obviously the
start column,
length,
format ... not in cobolese jargon please
many people answering do not speak strange languages

I attimes seriously feel if we have a sepearate thread for naming thing / how to name it / terminology defining from experts like you guys

We can't blame them because non native speakers of language find it hard or one who doesnt know what it is he finds hard to realise how he could search for it

For example : For Person like me I always wished to master MVS DATA AREAS A-Z icon_biggrin.gif (Hypothetical situation icon_razz.gif) but I took many pain to do it in Rexx to find out what the offset is and how to access the data content . Since I didnt know basics of it I really struggle everytime since I couldnt really understand the nuances of addressing I am able to visualise it icon_sad.gif (Hope someday I do it soon)

Again coming back to topic

See his occupation is SE it should have been a Programmer or developer or blah blah

But he has SE which could be a designation

I am annoyed with him because he is an experienced candidate probably more than me

But ofcourse there is no gain without no pain (to learn)

No offences to the TS
