COBOL AIX and Oracle

I enjoy visiting other sites and
pride myself on learning new things.

This thread in the IBM Cobol Cafe concerns
things that the Oracle SQL pre-compiler does.

If anyone can point to manuals to describe OUTLAW's comments,
last comments in this thread,

actually, i was wondeering what an atexit() hook was,
found references at

which tells me that it has little or nothing to do with cobol.
this is AIX COBOL,
completely different platform
which is a much different animal than IBM MF COBOL (assembler).

so little time, so much to learn.

Hi Dick,

When i worked on Unix (HP-UX, AIX, Sun), we used MicroFocus COBOL. For the coder it was quite similar to the mainframe compiler (other than code that "slipped by" the mainframe compiler, we changed very little code for the migrations. Biggest impact was the Environment Division and some few things in the FDs (iirc - been more than just a little while).
