Love this question...
I think you could probably run a "POST" HTTP request from IMS. It would take knowledge of the TCP/IP method for sending such a request in the background. You would need to use one of the IMS TCP/IP connectors.
What I DON'T think you can do is have IMS execute a Web Browser on the user's PC, manipulate the controls/objects on a page displayed in that browser, then close the browser. That's a level of integration that just isn't there.
Do you currently have any other IMS-to-network type transactions running, like something that would use IMS Connect, or MQ Series, or IMS SOAP Gateway? |

Thank you for you reply.
Yes, We do have IMS Connect programs, basically we use those programs responsive program. From web we connect to IMS by passing commarea and expecting output back. Starting from Web to IMS is fine. But here it is different way. From IMS, we wanted to display web browser.
please help me if you have any idea.

You have to think about what you are asking IMS to do. You want it to send a command to a user's PC and have it start a web browser.
I seriously doubt that can happen.
Look at the information about the new IMS call called "ICAL". It allows you to initiate a transaction from IMS.
What exactly do you need to do once the web browser is open? Is it something you could do via a "POST" HTTP call? |

It's nothing to do with IMS, just the was the web has to work. If a program could control a PC to launch a web browser, go to a different web-page, choose a specific option, control the mouse, whatever, then chaos would ensue. Connect to the internet, and, if you're lucky, your "worst" effect is your harddrive "formatted" :-) |
