Hi,

Is there any freeware/shareware available which can be connected to DB2 Zos from windows?

I need this only for query purpose.

This shop does not have any such tool. There is DB2 Luw 9.1 available but i was not able to connect to DB2 zos.

Thanks in advance.

Squirrel.
And I do believe (but not 100%) that if you have a license for DB2 zOS, you get QMF for Workstation included.

Hi,

What about IBM Data Studio, as enrico mentioned it requires local administration rights on the workstation to install it.

Also IBM Data Server Client, you can ask your support they would definately have it already configured to connect mainframe DB2 subsystems. This is a GUI tool, it has control center/Command Editor/configuration assistant using which you can can query mainframe DB2 tables.

Thanks,
Sushanth

Hello,

If you connect to the mainframe as a 3270-type terminal, you should be able to run queries via SPUFI. Assuming you have permission to access the database(s).

Thanks... everyone for the replies... I have installed IBM data studio and its working fine but its little slow compared to QMF for windows in retrieving results.

I even tried with SQL assistant - teradata, I am not able to connect to ZOS.
