Hello, Our data center was experimenting with going tapeless via VTL but has decided against and the VTL equipment is powered down and out the door.
However, there were quite a few volumes defined in rmm entries for this obsolete VTL project that and are still showing up in RMM.
Every one of the datasets for this VTL test are gone, and all the volsers are either Pending Release (not sure why some aren't going from Pending to scratch after 2 whole weeks since all datasets were deleted) or the volsers are in scratch status.
Neither RMM Deletevolume volser REMOVE
nor RMM Deletevolume volser FORCE are working for removing these volsers that are scratch or pending-release.
Getting a cc 12 with "Volume Status Change Failed - Volume catalog update failed Return code 16 Reason Code 401
I believe RMM is squawking that the VTL is not "accessible/online".
Since there is zero chance of resurrecting the VTL, how can I now delete These volume entries that are associated with the now defunct VTL?
Thanks |

other than a painful reminder of a miss-handled project,
can you not just re-initialize the old hardware,
and ignore the RMM entries?

The hardware is gone...reinitializing it is not an option |
