You can use DFSORT's FTOV parameter to go from fixed to variable as described at: www.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/software/sort/mvs/tricks/srtmst03.html#t09 You can use DFSORT's VTOF parameter to go from variable to fixed as described at: www.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/software/sort/mvs/tricks/srtmst01.html#t11
