Hi ALL,
I am aMainframe DB2 DBA having database admin rights.I am using DB2 V9 z/os.I created a database under a schema and then I created some tables under that. After some days, I figured out that I wrongly set the ownership of database(And so the tablespaces) but the tables are having the right schema that we wanted.
Now I wanted to reset the schema name for the database(as well as the tablespaces), I am using BMC tool to change the ownership of the database. But it seems its failing .May be the tool is not supporting .
Is there anyway to acheive this with minimal impact??
Your valuable suggestions are highly appreciated !! |

Hello,
One safe thing to do would be to drop and re-create the entire structure. Then all will be as it should with no risk of anything incorrect remaining.
If there is data to be retained, back up everything first.
Make sure you have all of the DDL to re-create everything.
If you have a "sandbox" for dba experiments, suggest you re-build everything in the sandbox first, check it out, and then re-do the one with the problem. |

there is no such thing as a database "schema" or a tablespace "schema".
There is a creator which has no significant value besides implied authority.
Or a storage group which is important for the high-level qualifier of the VSAMs.
tables schema or creator is important but have no relation to anything on database or tablespace level.
So it is pretty unclear what you are asking here. |
