Hi,

I am going thru IVP jobs for V10R1. I could run all batch jobs fine, but I am stuck with testing of IMS TM related activities!

There are instructions to test /FORMAT commands like /FOR IVTNO and FOR IVTNV. I understand that IVTNO and IVTNV are the sample transactions that were defined during SYSGEN, but I have no clue on how or where to issue /FOR commands!

I tried Installation Guide and that has nothing related to the testing method for transactions!

I spoke to few and they mention something regarding use of ETO but no helpful information. I guess ETO is to dynamically define new transations and user terminals. Can I use ETO to test run transactions?! How do I invoke ETO...IMS transactions/terminals?!

Please help!

When I use the /for command in IMS its in a production environment, thus any/all trans and regions, databases can be stopped/started etc. , Authorization could be the issue even in a test environment IMO.

That command is done just like you were entering the actual transaction. So log into the region, then type the command. Make sure you use the "/".

Thank You.

The issue was, I was not using the right APPLID to log in to IMS terminal!

I had to verify the STAGE1 parms and get the correct APPLID defined for IVP and use that in command LOGON APPLID(ivpimsa) !! it worked fine and I could test the IVP transactions.
