Hi,

I am seeing a code in Focus mainframe as "DEFINE FILE filename CLEAR"

I just got to know that DEFINE verb Defines a virtual field/file. What CLEAR does in this case?

Thanks.

Might sound picky, however, what is "Focus mainframe". FOCUS for Mainframe, as they say, is world's leading mainframe 4GL for reporting, database access, and decision support but "Focus Mainframe" is not a separate platform. Possibly I misunderstood.

If you're talking about latter, please have a look here and search for "CLEAR".
