How to Archive/Migrate a VSAM??

Can we manually archive a VSAM dataset? If so could someone please let me know how??

Hello,

Suggest you talk with your storage management people. They can tell you if this is permitted on your system and how to do it if permissable.

In 3.4 enter the command HMIGRATE / to the left of the dsname.

Whether it will actually migrate depends whether you have access to the file, and also what the MGMTCLAS is for the file and whether it allows command migration.
