Hi All,

I am new to sys programming. I have been going thru SMP/E training program and one of the tasks I have been asked to do is...

To list the DDDEF entries from global, target and distribution zones, map them to their corresponding datasets and then verify their existence in 3.4!

If someone can please help me understand why I have been asked to do this and what am I making certain/checking by doing so.

My understanding is...it is just to make sure that all the libraries required have been created successfully and nothing is missing/deleted.

Please excuse if I am sounding stupid...as I said...I am still taking baby steps in sys programming!

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum,

It is surely safer to "check" things than to start changing them . . .

Until you have more of a foundation.

to automate the checking it might be worth to look at cbt file 411
( Rob Scott utilities, one of which is the DDDEF checking tool )
