Hi ,
I need to type in the wordings into a file which should be in a single record. As file-aid provides such facility we are using it. Is there anyway to load the data into the file without using FILE-AID?
I know that we can use IEBGENER. But will that help in loading the data just like we have it in the input?
For eg.,
Wording:
XXXXX has been replaced by the YYYY Replacement system. Any old XXXX links or shortcuts on your desktop will not work anymore. All XXXX users should use the replacement application.
If the above is the wording that needs to be loaded into the file just like how they appear(case sensitive), is there anyway to load it without using file-aid. I need the data in the file to appear as a single record not like breaking it and writing in the next record. |

You can use TSO/ISPF edit.
You can use IEBGENER
You can upload from another machine using FTP, $INDFILE, Connect:Direct, or other tool
As long as your text doesn't exceed the system limitation on a single record, you have several options as to how to enter the text -- besides File Aid. |

Is that ALL that is in the file, or are you inserting it into the middle somewhere?
What is the LRECL of the file? Are you trying to create it on the fly, or is it already allocated?
Are you talking about a batch process, or do you want to do this by typing it in each time? |
