Please help me in comparison of 2 files which may get updated at different timings. So in order to keep them in sync, i need to check the timestamp of latest updated file or comapre both the files timestamp and use the latest for comaprison.

Since files created by z/OS don't have time stamps on them (unless they are Unix System Services files), exactly where are you planning on retrieving them from?

Does the first record in each file contain a timestamp?
