Need information on JCL Error

Hi,

My application job abended with JCL ERROR While recalling the Tape dataset.

Error:

NO AVAILABLE OFFLINE DEVICES ELIGIBLE FOR ALLOCATION for a GDG dataset

IS.ISS0018MA.FILE1.MA.EXTRACT(+0).

i redemanded the job by copying only the current generation dataset
in a separate job and completed fine.

kindly guide me how to overcome this issue for the next run.

what does the manual tell !

It would have helped if you'd mentioned that the message number is IEF462I. Fortunately, we don't have to depend on you for information.

Note that a relative generation number of (+0) means the current generation. You probably blindly requested a concatenation of generation data sets that required more tape drive than were available in the esoteric unit; or perhaps one or more data sets were miscataloged.
