Hi ,

I am trying to ftp a UTF-8 format file from my pc to mainframe server,
but i don't know whether the default ftp can do this ?

Of course it can do it -- that's not an issue.

The issue will be whether or not the data is usable on the mainframe. And that issue depends upon so many factors you haven't explained: is the FTP in binary or text, if you are doing a text transfer what translation you want to occur in FTP, are you dealing with XML data, are there any non-display characters in the data, and so forth and so on.
