Hi,

I need only the list of dataset names from the HLIST command. It always displays "Migrated on volume", "Last ref date", "Migrated date" etc so many information. Is there a way or option to suppress those information and display only the dataset name list?

Thanks!

Why?

Without more detailed knowledge of your requirement, I'd suggest just scrinching your eyes up so that only the one column is in focus. Would that do you?

I have to recall thousand of datasets. If I submit hrecall for all those files at the same time, system maintenance people object as that uses lot of resources. So I need to submit those hrecall commands in group, say 100. Now to get the list I use HLIST command. It displays the dataset name along with lot of other information. I don't need those information now. That's why I need to find out whether any option available or any other command to get the list of migrated files only.

Thanks.

You should talk to your responsibles for storage and HSM.

They have utilities to get back the datasets grouped by the tape, the datasets have been migrated to!
And all datasets can be recalled in one job per tape!

Thats the best way to recall thousends of datasets!
