The uploading is happening successfully but for each character one space is there. one more thing after the data uploaded I could see the below statement in the file. I have given one transaction as sample here. can you pls help me on this?.

Sample Transaction:

Data in Notepad as below
101 67214211111103220010A094101

After data uploaded into mainframe PS file as below:
"PRESERVE ON" IN EFFECT. TRAILING BLANKS WILL NOT BE TRUNCATED.
1 0 1 6 7 2 1 4 2 1 1 1 1 1 1 0 3 2 2 0 0 1 0 A 0 9 4 1 0 1

Could you show us what the data looks like, in HEX, from the ASCII machine, before you transmit it? A few records worth of data should suffice.

Quite likely like:

Code:
31 00 30 00 31 00 20 00 36 00 37 00 32 00 31 00 34 00 32 00 31 00 31 00 31 00 31 00 31 00 31 00 30 00 33 00 32 00 32 00 30 00 30 00 31 00 30 00 41 00 30 00 39 00 34 00 31 00 30 00 31 00

Again: UNICODE (without BOM) - tried it myself...

Thanks to all, Now its working fine. The issue was, the notepad has transactions with different record length, I tried to upload the notepad nto a Variable length PS file. Now Its uploading properly. But still I couldn't find out the reason for the " PRESERVE ON" IN EFFECT. TRAILING BLANKS WILL NOT BE TRUNCATED ". If you get any info reg this, I requets you to provide me.
Thanks for your immediate response.

You are lying and spouting utter bullsith!

I've uploaded many PC files (which are by definition VB) to z/OS and have never come across this issue.

BTW, what are "transactions" in notepad???????

As for giving you an immediate response? My most immediate one would be removed by the moderators.

Hello,

Suggest you talk with your support people and see if PRESERVE ON is the default for your system. Have you tried setting PRESERVE OFF?

What you are seeing is in the editor. This is not necessarily what was actually sent in the file transfer. . .

Edit some member and type PRESERVE SPACE in the command area (this is an error intentionally). Press F1 two times to see how PRESERVE works for variable length data.
