Determine dfsort level?

hi,
i ran below jcl to check dfsort level.

Code:

//S1 EXEC PGM=ICEMAN
//SYSOUT   DD SYSOUT=*
//SORTIN DD *
RECORD
/*
//SORTOUT DD DUMMY
//SYSIN   DD   *
  OPTION COPY
/*


and i could see the see the below ICE201I message:

Code:

ICE201I H RECORD TYPE IS F - DATA STARTS IN POSITION 1


will joinkeys works in this DFSORT level??

Search the forum, check the documentation. Answer should be clear then.

Even just try it with valid syntax.

i tried running in development and it ran fine. i was told by one of my collegue that here it works in develoment but not in production.so wanted to cross check.

So is the "H" from production? As H is bang up-to-date, yes it works. Where is the evidence of your colleague?

Bill,
its "H" from production. his job failed in production 2 yr back. might be tat time it was different dfsort level.

I should think so. H is from October 2010 :-)

It discusses the different levels of DFSORT in detail.

ICE201I H indicates you have ALL PTFs installed (Oct, 2010 level).
JOINKEYS has been available since Nov, 2009.

Another good place to look to see when various DFSORT and ICETOOL functions became available is:
