Candidate volume not being picked up

Hi,

I've allocated a candidate volume for one of my Database clusters and it seems the volumes are not being picked up and my job is abending indicating that space not available.

What could be a reason for this?

1. The volume may not have been allocated in the storage pool.
2. The volume may be disabled to the LPAR.
3. The volume may not be part of the storage pool.

There are other possibilities but these are the most likely.

You have allocated a volume ................... how ?
if you specify a specific volume have you used a GS storclas, asuming that you have the authority so to do.
What is the SMS status of the volume
