Hi,

I have a scenario where I want Job ABC to hold if either of the jobs DEF or GHI is runnig.

Will the below code suffice?

Code:
//ABC JOB 123,PRODUCTION,
//        CLASS=3,MSGCLASS=J
//*
//*+JLS ENQ DEF,EXCLUSIVE
//*+JLS ENQ GHI,EXCLUSIVE

You can use CNTL parameter...

Code:

/*CNTL control-name,EXC

Usage:

/*CNTL control-name,EXC/SHR - controls concurrent execution of jobs

control-name is a user-defined, 1-8 character name whose only significance is if it is used in other jobs on a /*CNTL statement
a job will hold exclusive rights to the control-name or share it
Example:

// JOB A
/*CNTL PAYROLL,EXC
// JOB B
/*CNTL PAYROLL,SHR
// JOB C
/*CNTL PAYROLL,SHR
1) Job A and B cannot run at the same time nor can A and C

2) Job B and C can run simultaneously

3) If Job A is running, Job B or C will wait until it finishes and vice versa
