MGIndaco, the poster asked about the next VERSION, not the next GENERATION. The next VERSION could be coded as V0A, and so on:
G9999V0A
However, the next GENERATION would be as you stated:
G0001V00 |

I want to apologize... I posted erroneusly Version as generation number... but what you say is new for me... The versioning of gdg is from 00 to 99 and not from 00 to FF(In this case the answer is always G0001V00)!
Can you post were you have found this kind of information?
I can be wrong and I can learn more but I'd like to know more about this argument.

I read that same document that states that the versions can be up to 100. That's why I find it strange that the system lets you rename the dataset with the other values for the version, with no warnings. What happens, as it turns out, that the dataset is no longer considered part of the GDG, and exists as a normal QSAM dataset. |
