how about looking at manuals:

DFSMS Utilities
look at IEBGENER. (you can substitute ICEGENER)
also, the IDCAMS manual look for REPRO

Your title doesn't seem to match your example. Please be informative with your titles, saves people wasting time setting off in the wrong direction.

IEBGENER will only copy one file per execution. ICETOOL/SYNCTOOL or IDCAMS can do what you want but why do you want to do it in one step. Suppose you have 5 copies to do and 4 work but one fails you have work to do to make the 5th copy work. Simpler to copy one file per execution.

Hi,

and if the job abends you are more likely to have lost any of the successfully completed copies. (depending on the DISP parameter)

Ugly, I'm with Nic and the time it will take is the same whether it's a single step or 5 steps.
