Hi All,

Facing an issue with the START command where the new task is not starting immediately ...

A transaction is initiated thru terminal, which after some processing iniitiates another task using the START command with the TERMID option. The TERMID option has been specified so that the new task also can display the output content to the terminal. We are noticing that when we have TERMID option - the new task is initiated only after the main task has completed. Is this as expected ?

Going thru the manuals, my understanding was that the new task would have started immediately and the starting of the new task is not really dependent on the TERMID option.

Binop,

I'm assuming that the START INTERVAL is ZERO (which is the default)?

Are the TERMID's the same or different?

If they're the same, then the started transaction won't get invoked until the current task (attached to this same termid) has terminated.

Have you walked this through CEDF or a 3rd-Party Debugger?

Bill

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your response ... icon_smile.gif

The TERMIDs are same. We used the value in the EIBTRMID in the START command while iniitiating the new task.

Yeah... I was verifying the new task iniitiation using CEMT I TASK and InterTest.
