Hi,

I have a screen B which is called from screen A. An F3 from screen B will take you to screenA.

When an invalid option is typed on the screen and an error message is displayed, if I press F3 and come to screen A and once more go to B the message still exists. This is because I was not initializing the screen message fields in the commare.

But today I noticed one strange thing. When an error message is diplayed on screen B, come out using F3 and logoff using CESF, logon and go inside screen B via screen A again the message still exists. I was thinking when we logoff from a CICS region, the commare will be initialized. I am curious about what will be wrong here.

You are probably getting allocated a COMMAREA with residual content - check your runtime STORAGE options.

Your application coding may also be involved.

Garry.
