Hi,

My application uses a Menu based approach. If for a particular option, a user does not have access, can i know it from the Menu program so that i can throw an error message to the screen.

Thanks for your inputs

Yep. If it is coded that way.

Is it coded that way? I have no idea, you have the source and the possibility to ask someone there, try it out, look at the source, etc.

I am yet to write the program. I just want to know if there are any ways to know if a logged in user has access to a transaction the Menu option is pointing to. Is there a way to know this ?

speak to Your security support group, in order to define properly the requirement and the relative solution!

asking on a forum about security issues will result mostly in a waste of time for everybody

security discussions imply, most of the time, sharing of company confidential info,
and You would not want to do that icon_cool.gif

replies will be most of the times based on experiences related to different standard and practices
and not applicable to Your environment
