Please tell me how to find the error with the help of the abend code of a job. For example, what does abend code U4038 mean ?

Hi ramframe,

This answer may help U.

In ur spool,

i)go to error job - JESMSGLG
ii)Here 'f ABEND'
iii)Trace the abend code and the reson code
iv) Check the manual for the error OR in JESMSGLG also, U will get a small description of the error.

Fro ex: 806 - 04 ------- This is for Module not found

Don't hesitate to ask
