Hi,
Currently "HILITE SQL" is not available as a language to hilite SQL keywords.
How can we do the customization of HILITE command to include Hi lighting of SQL Keywords? |

Alternatively, I find that HILITE REXX is a reasonable though imperfect substitute for a true HILITE SQL. |

Thanks...
I googled it and found that ISRPXASM is present in the IBM-supplied ISPF sample library.
What is that library name? Also making changes at the system library level will affect all the users. Can we not do it at user level? |

The library name depends on your installation standards. You might be able to find it by searching for 'SYS1.*samp'
If you link the ISRPX module into a private load library, you can allocate it to your personal ISPLLIB concatenation and thus avoid affecting anyone else.
I experimented with this today, but was only partially successful. The SQL keywords are highlighted, but it does not recognize the -- comment characters. There must be more to it than just ISRPXASM; looking at the Cobol language definition, for example, I don't see how you would specify that an asterisk in column 7 indicates a comment. |

Assemble and link the source in the normal way, pointing the link edit output to your favourite load library. For link control cards follow the instructions in the comments in ISRPXASM.
If you are not comfortable with assembler, the linkage editor, and ISPF allocations, then I suggest you seek advice from a friendly systems programmer. If you make a mistake you might cripple your ISPF session, and if you don't know how to extricate yourself you will need his/her help. |
