Thanks Enrico.... I read about it...

The only difference is the return code and the value getting stored in the register in case of abend.

Please tell me how does this difference actually considered when choosing which utility to use?

Hello,

There is the requirement that one apply one's own brain to the selection of an alternative. . .

Once you understand the alternatives (and are within the guidelines/standards of your system) pick what you need.

No one here needs to act like this is a first-grade class where everyone types what teacher says. We cannot train people. We simply do not have the resources.

About 12 years later, and just in case some else (like me),
stumbles across it, (Google search) -

Basically IKJEFT01 is THE program,
and 1A and 1B are different instances,
that gives you extra options (ErrCodes).

A nice guy named KOLUSU explained it in
https://www.***READ FORUM RULES***.com/helpboards/viewtopic.php?p=1233

Its (Obviously) a bit more complex than that,
but for basic needs 01 will do fine,
and if you need more, than I would go for a deep-dice in the ibm-lit.

You also have these resources, that might come in handy -
(Not only for this, but in general)
https://www.mainframestechhelp.com/utilities/ikjeft01/introduction.htm
or if you are more of a beginner -
https://www.mainframestechhelp.com/utilities/ikjeft01fb/

Again, posted as general resources.

Hope it helps whoever comes across it.
Sharing is caring ~Heart~
