Every program in CICS will definitely run under a specified region or across the regions. How can I identify, the complete set of regions where the program can run.

one solution i have, is to look at the PPT entries in SPOOL when program has first been hit, in any of the region. But due to possibility of running in diff regions, this is not the perfect solution.

Please suggest.

Tools I have : OMEGAMON

You cannot easily do so. You need to look at the CSD file to determine which groups and lists the program is defined to. Most sites will require this to be done by a system support person as applications programmers do not normally have full access to the CSD files. Since the CSD file can be dynamically allocated, you need the support group to identify where each CSD is used.

Thanks Robert.

I will definitely try to do the same and get back with the results.

Most likely your support staff relies on AutoInstall to create the PPT entries and does not manually create the definitions in the CSD. So, even if you dig through the CSD you will probably come up empty handed.

You will probably have more luck looking through the shutdown stats.

If you are in a CICSPLEX environment, you can use the CPSM API or WUI to find "the complete set of regions where the program has run"
(note the difference between "can run" and "has run")
