Hi all,

Can someone provide the details about AFFORM01 utility. I need to know why it is used and how we use the same in JCL i.e.,the parameters to be given in the step running this utility.

I couldnt not get any useful info on this even using google search.

It appears to be a utility for the CSF (Custom Statement Formatter) product. Maybe they'd have more details about it.

All I could find after doing a google search for this utility is only this link :
ibmmainframeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5424

Even we are looking at it for the first time. Not sure of any details about this.

Would appreciate if you throw some light on this.

nahhh, associative thinking icon_biggrin.gif
I googled for AFFORM01
the first hit was a broken link to a resume/CV with this text
Quote:
Utilized CSF Workshop and CSF Paint software to develop the forms, Natural and COBOL programs to create the data for the forms, and the AFFORM01 utility to ...
after googling for CSF workshp the rest was easy
csf workshop was from metavante that was merged/acquired with/by FIS

the hint seemed clear enough to me!

Gosh, I was being too simple. I just wondered how you knew "Dick" suspected anything.

Anyway, doesn't everyone use google like that...?

The sad thing is, they should, and it doesn't even take much time. Not much, but since that is relative, maybe it takes too much for some :-)

after a google search it takes quite a bit of <experience> and ... yes ...
<associative thinking>
to pinpoint and extract from a page with lots of garbage the few word that make sense
and continue from there

but what makes me worry is that when You look at the link posted by the TS
there were evidences of it in the jcl comments

... run CSF
... REMOVE EBCDIC STATEMENTS FROM POSTSCRIPT

and the TS should have got a hint from there too
