I am a new convert to RMM coming from TLMS. We've been running in parallel, monitoring and comparing actions to ensure proper VRSs and retentions/releases. I have numerous volumes in 'pending release' status in Availability. The Release Options were expirydateignore(no) and scratchimmediate(yes) - until recently - I did set all VRS entries to 'expirydateignore(yes). Actions Pending are as follows: Return to SCRATCH pool is yes - all other actions are NO. Also, CATSYSID matches. So, I believed all was in place to have those volumes go scratch with an EXPROC run but they don't. These datasets are all uncataloged at this point as they have met their VRS requirements. We do not use system-managed tape. Environment is STK/Sun/Oracle tape libraries if that matters. I was initially thinking the expirydateignore being 'no' was possibly causing the problem but now I believe that would have prevented going to 'release pending' in the first place. I'm at a loss. I have searched the posts and I've searched IBMLINK. I did have a discussion with IBM level 1 where they found an incident indicating volumes weren't going to scratch from pending release but once they were in protect mode, the volumes did scratch. They did not for me. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
