Hi,
In one of the requirement of my project, I need to implement a functionality where a large data file generated by the application needs to be transferred to another machine. This would be a traditional FTP like scenario, but we also need to ensure security, integrity and successful transfer of the file.
The application is running in a system (say A) in a Web Sphere environment and it will generate the data file in one designated folder in the file system. The same file needs to be transferred to an another machine (Say B). I am thinking of to use Sterling Connect Direct for the same. Now my question is, if I install Connect Direct server in another system (Say C), will it be possible to invoke a process through a client which is installed in A and make the file move from A to B.
Please refer to the attachment. If this is possible could anyone please describe how. If not, please brief me about the best possible and convenient way to do it.
Please feel free to ask, if I am not clear in the post.
Thanks in advance. |

do not post attachments! not everybody can see them
also posting proprietary format might prevent people with a more open architecture mindset to work with them
anyway nothing in Your <thingy>.doc that could not be expressed in a textual way and inlined |

anybody is entitled to post suggestions aimed at a better functioning of the forums
info about proper forum habits has a higher priority than topic related answers
since my tone was not rude You have no reason to complain
if You had lurked thru the forums before/after having posted You would have seen that this kind of advice is given in open view
also I took the time to download the attachment to check if I could inline the content on Your behalf
to save You some of the Your precious time and the hassle of reposting it
( but since it contained graphics it would have taken too much time, and I do not get paid for it )
so as I said before no reason to complain ... whether You like it or not |

Is B on some sort of cluster with C? If not, what's the relationship between B and C, or will B also be running Connect:Direct? |

Hi superk,
In this scenario B is just like a remote machine having connectivity with C. Relationship between B and C is nothing but more likely two systems in the same network.
I do not want to fix a particular system for C and should be able to change the machine address (For B) at any time as per my needs.
But C will not change.
Is that possible! If yes, how! |

OK.. OK.. No Probs.
I made some modification in the doc and attached it again for viewers. As you said the doc has images, the content cannot be textured with the post and in-lined. |
