Hello,
I've been working on (and have completed) an Assembler sub-program, which is CALLED from Batch COBOL and returns the Number-of-Records and Record-Length of a given KSDS or ESDS fixed-length VSAM Dataset, via a SHOWCB Macro. It's intended to be used in a LINKAGE SECTION Dynamic Array (a true OCCURS DEPENDING ON), whose storage is allocated for loading by the Caller, reading each Dataset record into each array element, until EOF.
Unfortunately, I can't test it (my work environment is restricted).
Send me an offline PM if you'd like to test this sub-program and I'll send it to you....

To Ronald Burr,
I sent this program to you several days ago via PM, but the message is still in the OUTBOX and I can't confirm whether you received it, as the number of downloads is ZERO.
I also sent it to two other members and both PM's were transferred to the SENTBOX and the number of downloads is ONE, which indicates they got them.
Messages that remain in the OUTBOX have been an ongoing problem because of their "Unknown" status (have they really been SENT?) and I've sent a PM to McMillan about this can be fixed.

from past experience I tend to believe that a sent message has been read, or at least opened |

Apologies, Bill.
I never received notification that a PM awaited, but when I just looked, it was, indeed, there in my inbox.
I have now downloaded the attachment and will get to work on testing at my earliest convenience. |
