Hi All

I have scenario like this

PROG A ------call -----PROG B { PROG A is a cics & PROG B is non cics)

I did some changes in PROG B & copiled with a CICS precompiler option and loaded. But the program gave ASRA during processing and the load was a big failure.

I am sharing this knowledge and please let me know if you think this is a wrong assumption

Hello,

Suggest you look at your compile/link for the program and the compile/link of some other called program that works. . .

If it's a CALLED sub-program from a CICS program and the sub-program does NOT contain ANY CICS commands or references (I'm sure there must be internal program comments), then it needs to be compiled as if it were a Batch program and linked into a Load Lib, which is shared by both Batch and CICS or, into the CICS Load Lib itself.

Multi-purpose programs are very common in many shops (allows programs to be used in both Batch and CICS), so you need to familiarize yourself with this concept.

Bill
