Hi;
We are taking our first steps into the area of channels and containers so this is all new to me. We have a set of five programs, call them A, B, C, D, and E that LINK and XCTL to each other, passing a COMMAREA. Each program fills in a portion of the COMMAREA where finally E LINKs back to A. We want to convert this process to use channels. The CICS Transaction Server V3.1 manuel shows examples of LINKing and XCTLing with channels, but never shows a conbination of them. My question is: Can program A XCTL to B with a channel and then B LINK to C with the same channel? And so on: C to D, D to E, and finally E back to A all using the same one channel with a combinations of XCTL and LINK.

Thank you, Bill. I will look at the CICS Transaction Server - Channels and Containers Revealed manual. |
