Hi All,

I have flow diagram which needs to be displayed. I am reading it into a table and displaying it using TBDISPL. But it is getting trucated after 80 bytes. I tried the WIDTH option but did not work. Is there a way I could scroll to the right and left?

Thanks in Advance,
Ravikanth Chavali

There are a few ways to achieve left/right scrolling. None of them are trivial.

1. Use a dynamic area rather than TBDISPL.

2. Use a variable )MODEL line on your TBDISPL panel.

3. Create two TBDISPL panels. One displays the left part of the output and the other displays the right. Use LEFT/RIGHT to toggle between the two screens.

Sorry I am confused. Could you give me little more detail direction.
I understood option 3. And is do able.
But on 2. I am currently using )Model for TBDISPL.

Also is there any other way like moving the content to a temporary file Like &ZTEMPF and using BROWSE?
My understanding is ZTEMPF is only 80 byte lenght.

Thanks in Advance.

If BROWSE is an option then go for it. It would be much simpler than the other approaches.

You don't have to use &ZTEMPF, you can use your own temporary file with whatever attributes you need.

If you modify your emulator to allow for MOD 5, and change your ISPF screen format to Max or Data, then you can display panels that have widths up to 133.

If you use a really good emulator, like Tom Brennan's Vista tn3270, you could use a custom format, like the 62x160 I'm using right now...

Viva Vista! It's the best emulator I have ever used. And the best $30 I ever spent!
