Hi,
I had submitted a Job and the job executed successfully. When I went to spool and checked for the job ID i could not find the job.
Can anyone tell me the reason why the job is not shown in spool?
Regards,
Shanmukh. |

Maybe your MSGCLASS is defined incorrectly? |

Hi,
check your SYSLOG and see what happened to your job.

Question 1: how do you know the job executed successfully if you cannot see it on the spool?
Question 2: are you aware that a syntax error on the JOB card will cause the job to flush without attempting to execute -- one possible reason for it not to show up on the spool?
Question 3: do you know which MSGCLASS to specify? Different sites have different standards and some sites use a message class to indicate you don't want the output, so it is deleted immediately - a second possible reason for it not to show up on the spool.
Question 4: have you talked to your site support group, team leader, or coworkers to determine if there are site requirements for job names that you may not have followed -- a third possible reason for it not to show up on the spool?
That should get you started -- there are other possible reasons a job would not show up on the spool, of course. |
