what utility will display the attributes of a DATACLAS?
I have several DATACLAS opportunities,
and would like to know which one suits my needs.
SECOND QUESTION
i have noticed that one DATACLAS allocates the SIZE in megabytes.
i am old school and am used to TRACK/CYLINDER type allocation.
is there an advantage to allocating in megabytes? |

ISMF;4 will list your Dataclases and then LISTPRT as a command line command allows it to be printed into a file.
Advantage of KB,MB type allocations is device independence and means more to non Storage people. Easy to convert by dividing with 56664 for a tracks vale then by 15 for cyls.
I use it a bit on SPACE parameters. So for example if you want enough space for 100,000 x 80 byte records primary and 10,000 secondary, code:
SPACE=(80,(100,10),RLSE),AVGREC=K |
